Smart Search allows filtering of items in the Order Center and of Accounts in the various Account Views.
Users can filter the Items or Accounts based on configurable fields as described below.
Sales Reps don't have to rely only on Filters created by the admin to filter the catalog.
Items can be searched by their properties (one of the 8 user defined properties you have mapped) or any other field such as Last Purchase quantity, Last Purchase date, custom fields, etc.
Accounts can be searched by any field, address field, attribute, and custom field as well as properties.
Note: if you are using the Classic Order Center (not the New Order Center) you will be able to filter Items by the Properties fields only (not by custom fields, or other item fields).
Next Activty/Last Activity
Accounts also can be searched by the date of the last or next Activity on this Account, if you are using the Route and Activity Planning to schedule activities.
- Search for Accounts with a property of medium or large account size that have not had a planned activity in the past 3 months.
- Search for small sized Accounts that have their next planned activity within the next 2 weeks. (For more details on planned Activities see: Activity Planning)
Access the Smart Search by tapping on the filter icon at the top of the Account or Order Center view (in the Classic order center by pulling down the arrow on top of the Catalog view):
Smart Search settings allow you to customize the order in which the filters appear, as well as their title.
To access the Smart Search settings for Items:
Classic Order Center: Settings -> Items -> Smart Search
New Order Center: configure Smart Search by Transaction Type. Edit the Transaction Type, go to the Views and Forms tab and open the Smart Search layout. Edit the Smart Search for the relevant Pepperi profile.
Items Smart Search configuration:
All available properties you have mapped for your items will appear on the left.
Properties - When Item and Account information is loaded up to 8 user defined properties can be mapped for each Item and up to 5 for each Account. The field names for the properties are simply called "Property 1" , "Property 2" , etc. . . up to Property 8...
Properties are user defined and vary depending on your needs for grouping your items.

Values in the smart search options appear sorted alphabetically (A-Z), as strings not integers. Even if the values are numerical they will be sorted by the order of the digits, and not in numerical order.
For example, numerical values of: 1123, 121, 10200, 11044
Will be sorted as follows: 10200, 11044, 1123, 121
To access the Smart Search settings for Accounts:
Settings -> Accounts -> Smart Search
Account Smart Search Configuration:
All available properties, attributes or any custom fields you may have created will appear on the Available fields on the left. Including address fields such as city and state, zip code etc. .
Add from the available fields to the Smart Search Layout and sort the order in which you want the smart search boxes to appear in the app from left to right.
You can also rename the box titles by clicking on the edit (pencil) icon next to the property name in the Smart Search Layout.
