Inventory can be updated and reported on.
In this article you will learn how to view and update inventory, as well as how to see an Inventory report in the Pepperi Web Admin.
NOTE: Inventory values do not decrease when sales reps place orders for items.
NOTE: When inventory values are updated with an Excel file of the items, the values for items existing in the Excel file are updated to the new values.
For items that are NOT listed in the file, their inventory value will be set to zero by default unless otherwise specified in the 'Item Import default' settings in the back office: "Reset Inventory", "Hide", "Do nothing". Those settings can only be modified by your project manager or support representative.
Inventory values are updated only when you upload an Excel file with the new values OR if you are using the automatic integration with your ERP system, when the ERP system automatically sends the updates to Pepperi.
MAKE SURE to include Inventory as one of the fields that appear in the catalog by selecting it in the "Customize Fields" box as described in the article: Customize Fields and Catalog Views.
Once uploading your items with a value for "Inventory", the sales rep will see the value on the app.
If an item is ordered in a quantity that is greater than the inventory value, the quantity box can turn red or auto-adjust depending on your settings in the Transaction (for details on these settings see: Sales Transactions Workflow and Settings.
Note: this does not prevent the items from being added to the order. It acts as an indicator for the sales rep.
When an item's inventory is greater than zero, it appears with a blue indicator dot on the top of its display in the catalog.
This is useful because it allows the sales rep to see if the inventory exists, without having to drill down to the information view to see the inventory property value.
To display Inventory for matrix items, select "Order" from the parent item, and then push the inventory toggle button on top, this will show/hide the inventory value for each combination within the matrix.
See the screenshots in Gridline and Matrix view:
To update Inventory, you must upload an Excel file containing the updated inventory values, BrandID and the item codes.
Upload a file such as this one using the Import/Export capability explained in the section of this article that explains how to upload an Excel file via the Wizard: How to Upload Items
You do not need to upload all the remaining fields associated with these items if you are only updating inventory values, although doing so will cause no change or harm.
The inventory values will be updated and the sales reps will be able to view the updated values upon their next sync.
You can then view a report of Distributor Inventory in the Pepperi Web Admin:
Select Distributor Inventory from the Reports Section:
You can filter, format, and export the report. For instructions see: Reports
