Pepperi V4.7 was released to the app store with major new features such as New Order Center configuration, Route Accounting/Van Sales and assignment of Catalogs per Transaction. The features allow for more efficient, less error prone and focused workflows. All the details are below!
- Complete control over views per Transaction Type
- Editable fields in the Order Center Gridline View
- Rule Engine functionality within Order Center (i.e. in-order Stocktaking and Replenishment)
- Search by device camera bar code scanning
- Temporarily Unavailable Views
The new configuration gives you complete control over the different order center views. You may add an unlimited number of fields to each view.
A notable difference is that scrolling between catalog pages is now done vertically and not horizontally. This allows for quicker navigation, as it is sensitive to scrolling speed.
Configurations are now possible per Transaction Type allowing for different display of fields depending on the need of a specific transaction. For example, you may hide pricing information for a quotation, or you may configure in-order stocktaking right inside the order center for a replenishment order. The new configuration allows for greater flexibility.
The new configuration settings are not used by default. Users must enable this on their iPad from the app settings gear on the home screen.
Once enabled, all settings from the Pepperi Web Admin will appear on the users iPad (iPhones automatically use the new configuration format).
If the user disables the new configuration settings on their iPad, they will revert back to the global settings in the Oder Center configurations under the Settings -> Items section. The configurations will be the same Transaction-wide.
Configure Order Center Views per Transaction Type
Go to Settings -> Transaction Types -> <Transaction name you wish to edit>
In the Views and Forms tab open the “Order Center Views” section.
Each view is configurable per profile (Rep, Admin, Buyer, or other you may have).
The actual configuration is done in a grid. Position the available fields in the grid and stretch them to the size required. The quantity of fields is unlimited.
Click the pencil (edit) icon next to each field to configure its label and orientation:
When you are taking orders, many times prices, discounts, remarks, and other fields require sales rep editing before the order is submitted. Up until now you had to add the item to the shopping cart in order to edit them and then switch back and forth between the cart and the order center to continue the ordering process.
The new Order Center allows you to edit these fields right in the Gridline View.
The Gridline View can now contain editable fields. Just like in the Cart, you can mark fields as editable (not read only):
The Gridline View on the app will allow editing of all fields not marked read only.
Pepperi Rule Engine can now be used within the Order Center, without having to transfer back and forth between the Cart. Fields in the view can evaluate rules real time and off line.
For example, automatically set quantities based on target stock, automatically set discounts based on Transaction Type and quantity ordered.
The New Order Center allows you to search for items by scanning their bar code using your device’s (iPad / iPhone) own camera, no external bar code scanner is required.
Just scan the bar code and the item will be searched in the Order Center.
What if I’m not yet using the new Order Center?
If users don’t use the new Order Center, the old Order Center configuration settings will be in effect for all Transaction Types (taken from Settings -> Items).
The following views are temporarily unavailable in the new Order Center and will be reinstated in the next version of Pepperi for iOS.
- Barcode view
- Matrix view
- Flat Matrix view
- Variants view
- Favorites and Wishlists
Route Accounting (or Van Sales) is now supported on Pepperi for iOS. This feature allows transfer of inventory between stores, vans, warehouses or other Account Types.
Allow reps to select which warehouse they want to order their inventory from
Allow reps that sell out of a van to manage the inventory transferred from warehouse to van to store and back.
By defining Account types, you can define multiple warehouses and allow users to select a source of inventory for each Transaction Type.
For details on implementing this functionality see: Route Accounting Setup
Some Transactions require using specific Catalogs only. Sales Reps will now be presented with only the relevant Catalogs per Transaction. Reps will focus on the relevant workflow, reducing errors and time wasted searching through incorrect Catalogs.
- Return Transaction items will most likely come from older catalogs that may no longer be your current seasonal Catalog.
- Stocktaking may also require a separate Catalog, if reps are doing a stock count on items that may have been on the shelf for a while and are no longer in more updated current Catalogs.
To assign Catalogs to a Transaction Type, go to the Settings tab of the Transaction Type and edit the list of Catalogs assigned:
Select the catalogs you wish to assign:
Smart Search in the Order Center now allows filtering items by all item fields, in addition to the 8 Item Properties enabled up until now.
Smart Search is configured in the Transaction Type under the Views and Forms -> Smart Search forms. Add the fields you wish to enable for Smart Search, sort their order and edit their titles if needed.
Search for items by:
- Last Order Quantity
- Delivery Date
- Campaign Name
- Minimum or Case quantity
- Item Discount
- Any other field/custom field
