Pepperi is increasing its security measures to ensure maximum security for your data. Customers will be required to use browsers that support TLS 1.2 and above for all communications starting March 31, 2021.
TLS is a protocol used by web browsers to encrypt data sent over the internet. It is an updated more secure version of SSL.
TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 are very old standards having severe security vulnerabilities and hence TLS 1.2+ is considered to be safe. Popular web browsers like Chrome, Safari, Firefox and MS browsers have already started dropping support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 since January 2020.
What does this mean for you?
- Customers will not be able to access Pepperi using old web browsers that don’t support TLS 1.2.
- Customers using FTPS protocols will have to make sure they are using an updated FTP client, and update any automation tools used to support TLS1.2 or above.
If you're not sure, run a quick check to see if your browser supports TLS V1.2. There are a few simple ways to do it online.
