When exporting Pepperi orders to an FTP folder for automatic integration to your ERP or other back office system, Pepperi automatically exports the files in XML format, however with a txt extension in the file name.
This presents a problem because your ERP, or other back office system you are exporting your Pepperi orders to, requires XML file name extensions.
The instructions in this article will explain how to configure Pepperi to export the Order files with an XML extension, and also how to modify the file naming convention of the exported Order files.
To export files to the FTP with XML extension follow steps 1 and 2 below:
1. Upload the attached Order-XML.xslt file as configuration file of type “Exported Order File Name”
Go to Settings -> Configuration Files -> Configuration Files
Click Add New File
File Type: Select "Exported Order File Name"
File Name: Enter a file name that you will recognize for this purpose such as "Order in XML format"
File Description: Enter a short description for this purpose such as "Order in XML format"
Click Upload and browse to the Order-XML.xslt file (attached below).
Click Save
2. Configure the XML configuration file to use the new file to generate its name
Go to the "XML" configuration file (it is provided by Pepperi and listed by default in the Configuration Files), click on the Edit icon.
For the Exported File Name select the new "Order in XML format" file that you just added in step 1.
Click Save
Modifying the file naming convention of the exported Order XML files
When using the attached Order-XML.xslt file (below), the exported XML file name will be – “<orderType>_<orderNumber>.xml”
<orderType> will typically be "Sales Order" unless you have multiple Transaction Types configured (for example dedicated Transactions for returns or quotes).
You may change this file naming convention by editing the attached Order-XML.xslt file.
