There are three ways to manually “remove” an item.
1) Delete – from Items-> Manage Items select the item and press the red X icon
2) Delete – from Items->Manage Items -> Import/export check the item you want to delete on the table/grid and then click the X button
3) Hide – from Catalog just click the Hide icon which exists on each catalog item (in the bottom-right corner)
To restore an item manually you should use the relevant recycle bin (in Manage Catalog for hide, and in Manage Items for delete).
To restore Hidden items in bulk:
Add a column to your items file titled "Hidden" . Give the values of 0 (the number zero) to all the items that are currently hidden that you wish to unhide, the remaining items value can remain blank or set to 0 (the number zero) because the default value is zero.
Map the column to the Item field "HideInCatalog" and upload this file.
The "un-hidden" items will reappear in the catalog.
What are the differences between Delete and Hide?
Delete |
Hide |
After deletion the item is listed only in “Manage Items” recycle bin |
After hiding the item exists only in the catalog recycle bin |
Item is removed from all places (reports, dashboards, etc..) |
Item is hidden only from the catalog |
Restore can be done by uploading another file that contains the same item |
Restore can be done manually or by un-hiding the item via the HideInCatalog items file upload |
File uploading cannot delete items |
You can control the “hide” with file uploading – there is an Item field that maps this property "Hide in Catalog" |
If a rep did not sync after deletion of an item and will place an order – this item will fail. |
If a rep did not sync after an item is hidden and will place an order – this item will succeed |
In both cases – after syncing the item will be removed from the user's Pepperi view.
