Role Hierarchy allows you to group your users by their position in the organization and manage them with unlimited levels of hierarchy.
When a user with a particular role logs in to the WebApp they can manage and see the activity of all roles below them.
If Role Hierarchy is not enabled in your Pepperi account, please contact Pepperi support.
Hierarchy views are only available on the WebApp not on the Pepperi app on mobile devices. Users logged in on mobile devices will see only the Accounts, Activities and Transactions they are explicitly assigned to.
First create Roles in the hierarchy tree that correspond to managers, reps, or any other roles in your organization. Then assign the role to the users (in the user's profile).
For example, the top of the hierarchy is the admin role, then comes the national manager with 3 regional managers reporting to him/her, who each have 5 reps reporting to them.
This hierarchy would mean that the national manager would see the regional managers and all their reps in his dashboards and reports when logging in to the Pepperi Web App, while the regional managers would only see the reps reporting to them:
When creating the users, select the Role that they should fit in the hierarchy (see this article for details on how to creating users: Add Users).
User "Type" and User "Role"
ALL USERS should be created as "Sales Rep" type users and NOT "Admin" user types.
ONLY the highest level in the hierarchy should be an "Admin" User type.
All users reporting to the role above them are assigned the same role. In this example, all 5 sales reps reporting to the respective Regional Managers would have the role "Region A/B/C Reps"
If there were 2 Region A managers, they would both be assigned the role "Region A Manager" in their user definition.
When creating a sales rep who is a "Region A Rep" role, in the User definition select this value from the "Role" menu:
The User Type should be Sales Rep (not admin):
Now the user with the role "Region A Manager" will be able to view all Sales Rep Users with the "Region A Reps" role when logged in to the WebApp on a browser and viewing the Activity Lists and reports.
Hierarchy views are are only available on the WebApp not on the Pepperi app on mobile devices. Users logged in on mobile devices will see only the Accounts, Activities and Transactions they are explicitly assigned to.
