Pepperi's Message Center enables sending push notifications - a powerful mobile-first communication channel that keeps your users informed and allows them to take action.
Send push notifications to users connected on mobile devices, with a tap bring the user into the relevant area in the Pepperi app.
The notification will appear on any device that the user is logged in to the Pepperi app on, even if the app is closed. If they are logged in to multiple devices, the notifications will appear in all.
Send notifications such as:
- Send a message to reps to alert them that a new Account has been assigned to them.
- In the Eyewear industry - send a message to reps once every week or so to remind them to do a frame board management in-store to increase replenishment sales.
- Send a message to your customers who are B2B eComerce buyers in Pepperi informing them of a new promotion, event, or line of products.

Push notifications can be sent by two methods:
- Pepperi Admin user can initiate push notifications in the Message Center from the back office
- Automated push notifications via the Transaction or Activity Type Workflow Actions. Push notifications sent via the Workflow actions will open the Pepperi app notifications panel. When viewing the notification in the panel, the user can tap on it to open the Transaction or Activity it is related to.
Configuration
To view push notifications in the mobile app notification bell icon on the homescreen you must configure the Page Builder as follows:
Open Settings -> Pages -> Page Builder
Create a new page with the name "Notifications" (exact name).
Add a section. Drag the Notifications Page Block to the section. Save.
When you are ready to and Publish.
Assign a slug to all users that are required to see notifications on their devices.
Open Pages -> Slugs
Add a slug with the Display name Notifications, and the slug name "notifications" (lower case).
Go to the Mapping tab.
Add the Notifications slug to all the profiles required.
Push Notifications sent by Pepperi Admin from Back Office
Pepperi admin users can login to the back office on the web app and send Push Notifications to mobile users.
Mobile users must turn on Push notifications in the settings of their mobile device for Pepperi in order to receive notifications.
You can view a list of devices currently connected to Pepperi that have enabled push notifications in the back office under the Device Settings section.
To send Push notifications:
Go to Settings -> Push Notifications -> Messages
Send new message
Select recipients from the User list, enter Subject and Body
Select recipients from the User list
Click Send
The push notification will immediately be sent to the users' devices. Tapping on it will open the Pepperi app. |

Notifications from the last 30 days can be viewed in a list from the app homescreen by tapping on the notification bell icon. A red dot will appear when there are unread notifications. |
To view a list of devices connected to Pepperi go to Push Notifications -> Device Settings
The device list will show all users that are currently connected to Pepperi on mobile devices that have enabled Push notifications for the Pepperi app on their device.
If a user's device is not on the list, make sure they enabled push notifications.
The device name will display the name the user chose for their device.
💡Tip: For easy recognition, have your users name their iOS and Android devices in their device settings.
Push Notifications via Transaction or Activity Type Workflows
To configure Push Notifications, add the "Push Notification" action in the desired point in your Transaction or Activity Workflow, and indicate the list of users the Notification should be sent to.
Notifications pop up only when the Pepperi app is closed.
If you do not want to receive notifications to the device, disable Push notification permissions for Pepperi on your mobile device.
To configure Notifications:
Settings -> Transaction Types
Edit the Transaction you wish to add the Push Notification to.
Edit the transition in the Workflow for which you want to send the Push Notification.
Add a Workflow Post Action "Push Notification" as follows:
Add a title and message, and a semi-colon separated list of usernames.
You may use the field AccountName in curly brackets - {AccountName} - in the Title or Message to dynamically include the Account name.
Ticking "Send to the user who performed the Activity" will send the notification to this user in addition to the Users list.
Push notifications sent via the Workflow actions will open the Pepperi app notifications panel. When viewing the notification in the panel, the user can tap on it to open the Transaction or Activity it is related to.
NOTE: to modify the Push notification action after it has been saved you must delete it and create a new one. Changes made to an existing Push notification action are not saved.
